次の校内ニュースの原稿を読んで、後の問いに答えなさい。

 Hello, everyone.  It's 12 : 30 on Tuesday, November 21th.
This is the Oka High School Broadcast News. I'm Yano Takeshi with some interesting news.
First, we have seven second year students in our school.
They visited around our city and tried to publish a school paper.
They studied the history and culture in our city to put the articles in it.
And finally they did it. They learned how to collect data, to take pictures, and to write articles
from the real reporter to publish the school paper.
They decided not only who and what to take charge of, but what to put in it and how to take up space.
 Next, surprise news.
Our chorus group has won the first prize in National School Music Competition.
Our group is very good this year and we all have hoped it will win the first prize.
The last news for today is the weather.
It is cloudy now, but it will be rainy this evening. The weather will change during the night
, and we will have snow tomorrow morning.
Be careful when you come to school.

次の対話文を読んで、後の問いに答えなさい。

Beth: What a wonderful song ! I've heard it before. Do you know it, Yuki ?
Yuki: Yes, it's a popular English song.
Beth: Where is it coming from ?
Yuki: It's coming from a mobile phone. Look ! That man is talking on his phone.
Beth: Oh, I see.
Yuki: Now a lot of Japanese people have a mobile phone. Mobile phones are not so
expensive in Japan now. How about in your country ?
Beth: Mobile phones are popular in my country, too. They are very useful.
Yuki: That's right. Mobile phones are so small that we can carry them.
Beth: But mobile phones cause some problems in my country. For example, some car
accidents have happened because many people driving a car use a mobile phone.
That's very dangerous.
Yuki: That's a problem in Japan, too. Some people are riding a bike playing mobile games,
and they don't think about the other people walking on a sidewalk.
So there have been a lot of traffic accidents between the two these days.
Beth: It's serious.\(\hspace{10px}\)And if you use a mobile phone near machines, some of them have troubles.
Yuki: Well, mobile phones have both good points and bad points , don't they ?
Beth: Yes, they do.\(\hspace{10px}\)We really need to think about others when we use our mobile phones.
Yuki: I think so, too.

  • 次の英文は、Yuki のクラスが、賛成派と反対派に分かれて行った討論会の一部である。 これを読んで後の問いに答えなさい。
Teacher: First, Team A will give their speech.
Team A
Yuki: We think we can live happier in the country than in the city. The first reason is that
we are able to live slowly without always being tired from busy life in the country.
The second reason is that life in the country is very good for our health. Moving to do farming
with well-balanced diet every day must make us healthy to live longer than the people in the city.
There is no doubt that busyness of the city makes our life inordinate and unhealthy.
Teacher: Next, Team B, please give your speech.
Team B
Ken: We don't think we can live happier in the country than in the city, because life in the city
is more convenient than in the country. If we take a train, we can go everywhere.
If we want something to read, we'll find a bookstore soon. There are four supermarkets
within the limits of our ability of moving on foot. How about life in the country ?
Only one or two buses operate an hour. There is no theater and no hospital near our houses.
It takes more than fifteen minutes to the convenience store. We are certain that the country
is very hard to live.
Teacher: Now, Team B, please ask Team A some.
Team B
Mari: You said, "We are able to live slowly without always being tired from busy life in the country."
Does doing farming enable you to live slowly ?
Team A
Yuki: No, we don't. It is not easy for us to do farming. But we think we can become
stronger through it, and live a full life. Living slowly also means feeling flow time of day.
Team B
Mari: Which do we need to live more slowly, or more conveniently ?
Team A
Yuki: We think we need both. Because living slowly and living conveniently are both
important for our happiness.
